We are looking to recruit a seasoned technology leader, Tech Delivery Lead –to the eCommerce, Orders, Payments Solutions Team within a global publishing and digital knowledge business.

This role can be worked from anywhere in the UK. Travel will be required on occasions to Head Office located nr Oxford and also some international travel (in time).
As Tech Delivery Lead, you’ll be:
- Line managing one or more teams of Backend & Web Engineers. Collaborating with other engineering teams and product managers to help define the technical vision.
- Contributing to product strategy, setting project goals, and continuing to support and develop your team.
- Growing a diverse, highly skilled group of engineers, gaining fantastic exposure to scaling a tech team at a unique pace. Drive hiring process, from scouting potential candidates to interviewing and helping attract new hires.
- Scale infrastructure to meet demand while keeping an eye on cost efficiency
- Become instrumental in improving and implementing processes and values that scale effectively
- Be willing to roll up your sleeves and debug/tune/code/fix alongside your team (Drive and teach technical incident response).
- Provide technical mentorship to engineers building and deploying large-scale projects internationally.
What we’re looking for in a Tech Delivery Lead:
- Proven leadership skills as a line manager to a team (min 1-2 yrs experience). You set goals and objectives and offer advice, setting your team up for success.
- You have been a software engineer building user-focused products at pace.
- Your style is collaborative and supportive, to encourage your team to continually optimise their code. Conduct and participate in technical design reviews.
- You’re a natural recruiter, passionate about building your team. Passionate about collaborative problem solving.
- You’re experienced in architecting and implementing of end-to-end software services using cutting edge technologies.
- You’ve expertise in microservices architecture, edge-computing, continuous Integration, continuous deployment, and delivery with versioning control tools.
- You’ve past experience with deployments on cloud infrastructure (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).
- You can communicate equally effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- You’ve a solid grasp of modern software development lifecycle.
- Your Knowledge of PCI, payments, card processing is highly desirable.
- Your experience in working with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and gRpc is a plus.
Competitive package in the region of £72,000 (negotiable dependent on experience), 25 days leave + BH’s & Birthday, volunteering days, social and charitable events, career pathways, and pension contributions.
