Senior Product Manager – Advanced manufacturing

The opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to step into a highly visible, business-critical product leadership role within a globally respected advanced manufacturing business. The role reports directly to the Managing Director and holds a seat at the leadership table.

Product is central to how this business competes, grows and wins globally, and this position plays a pivotal role in shaping that future.

The organisation designs, develops and manufactures highly engineered equipment used by Tier-1 manufacturers worldwide. Around 98% of output is exported, with strong and growing demand across Asia and Europe, and emerging opportunities in India as global manufacturing footprints evolve.

The business is now looking to appoint someone capable of owning, evolving and future-proofing a critical product portfolio.

The scope

You will take ownership of a capital equipment portfolio generating c.$12m in annual revenue, representing roughly 45% of total company turnover, with the wider business supported by high-value consumables and service revenues linked to the installed base.

Products range from standalone machines through to fully bespoke integrated products, all customised to customer requirements and embedded within complex manufacturing environments.

This is a true end-to-end product role, covering:

  • Full product lifecycle ownership from concept through to end-of-life
  • Portfolio strategy, roadmap definition and prioritisation
  • Close collaboration with design, engineering and operations
  • Strong influence on commercial outcomes through pricing, positioning and value creation
  • Acting as the global product authority across customers, partners and internal teams

This role works in close partnership with Sales and Engineering to shape propositions, unlock growth opportunities and ensure the portfolio remains competitive and differentiated.

Why this role is different:

  • Leadership visibility: Reports to the MD and is viewed internally as a key driver of business performance
  • Autonomy: Backed by a Fortune 200 parent, but operated with genuine independence due to consistently strong results and profitability
  • Technical challenge: Manufacturing processes are evolving rapidly as products become smaller, more precise and more complex. The product strategy must keep pace
  • Innovation horizon: The technology continues to evolve as manufacturing processes become more precise and complex, creating opportunities to develop new capabilities that support next-generation production environments.
  • Career trajectory: This role is seen as a feeder into future GM or MD positions, with access to an international high-potential leadership programme

This role will appeal to someone who:

  • Has owned or led engineered, manufactured products in a B2B or industrial environment
  • Is comfortable working with customised technical solutions, not off-the-shelf products
  • Enjoys operating at the intersection of product, engineering and commercial strategy
  • Can influence senior stakeholders and hold their own at leadership level
  • Is motivated by long-term impact, not short-term title progression
  • Experience of hands-on product marketing, including positioning, value proposition development and supporting go-to-market activity, would be beneficial.

Backgrounds in industrial automation, precision engineering, advanced manufacturing, electronics manufacturing equipment, instrumentation or complex capital equipment are particularly relevant.

This is not a digital, SaaS or consumer product role.

Culture & environment:

The business has a reputation for high retention and long tenure. People stay because the work is challenging, standards are high and contributions are visible.

It combines the pace and accountability of a high-performing SME with the backing and stability of a global group, without the bureaucracy that often comes with it.

International travel is estimated at 20% – 30% annually.

What’s on Offer:

Basic salary in the region of £75,000 plus 15% bonus

Pension contribution of 11%

Private health

Plus others within their benefits package.
