An opportunity for an Infrastructure Architect to join an innovative, client focused technical team as part of a product-oriented business. As an Infrastructure Architect you’ll proactively and holistically lead and support on Enterprise Architecture activities that enable the businesses future-state capabilities and drive targeted business outcomes. For this, you’ll need to be an expert in running solutions built on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
You’d be joining a fast growing, global business – part of a FTSE 100 group, who are investing significantly in their technical and infrastructure solutions.
Technologies include all aspects of Cloud infrastructure, microservices in Java or Node, Lambda, network topologies, CDN’s, containers, API Management, block storage, document and relational data stores .
What you’ll be doing
• Collaborate with Tech leaders in planning and defining technical standards to be used for new system implementations and upgrades
• Maintain the Technology radar for immediate and future adoption.
• Lead the activity of Architects and Subjects Matter Experts in the evaluation and selection of technology.
• Identify appropriate technology to meet particular uses to and to help delivery teams make good technical choices
• Lead the analysis of current technology environment
• Oversee and/or consult on technology implementation and modification, in particular for new or shared infrastructure solutions
• Work closely with Product team and EA peers to enable infrastructure agility,
scalability and resilience.
Who we’re looking for
• Demonstrable design and implementation experience in IT with deep knowledge in a minimum of 2 of the following technical disciplines: infrastructure and network design, application development, API’s, middleware, servers and storage, database management and operations, clustering technologies, virtualization, cloud technologies and security. (ideally certified)
• Exposure in multiple diverse technical configurations, technologies and processing environments
• Solid understanding of product management, agile principles and development methodologies
• Excellent interpersonal skills: teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
• Strong leadership skills
• Knowledge of many, if not most, aspects of Enterprise Technology architecture, modern CI/CD processes, and system development lifecycle methodologies.
• Trusted and respected as a thought leader who can influence and persuade business and IT leaders and IT development teams
• Technology neutral, remaining unbiased toward specific technology and vendor choices
